I've traveled with bike bags before, but the ROLLBAG Pro is on another level. Packing is intuitive, everything fells well thought out,and the padding is excellent. My bike arrives perfectly aligned after a long-haul flight, no scratches, no adjustments needed. I really recommend this brand
My wife and I have traveled with mountain bikes for decades using everything from cardboard boxes, to full hard cases. We eventually landed at bags from Evoc and Chain Reaction Cycles. These have served us well, but I’m always looking for shorter build/breakdown times as one trip requires 8 tear downs and rebuilds. The Buds Pro bag accessories really help with fast and secure packing. Especially the padded handlebar bag and derailleur protection. Also, the fact that the fork and bottom bracket pads can be installed outside of the bag itself is a game changer. I currently ride an XL sized Ibis Ripmo V2. And there is plenty of length in the bag for it to fit. On other bags, I need to remove air from the fork and shock and compress the frame together with straps to shorten the overall length of the bike. The Buds bag doesn’t require any of this. That said, the Pro bag is much wider and taller than their competitors. While the width might go unnoticed by a tape measure wielding airline representative, the height of the bag is bordering on “why?” Buds product designers could shave 5” off the total height of the bag to make it appear more compact, and XL mountain bikes would still easily fit. I will also mention that the weight of the Buds bag comes in a pound under the Chain Reaction bag and 2 pounds under the Evoc bag. Pretty substantial if you’re worried about coming in under 50 pounds.
I used the bag for a trip to Chihuahua Mexico on American Airlines. No problem with the size with the airline. Bike arrived in good shape and it was an easy store with rolling it up for when I return for the flight home.
I've flown with this bag multiples times in the last year, and it still performs like new. No weak points, no zipper issues, no damage to the bike. this is clearly designed for frequent travelers
Used the bag once for travel by air West Coast to East Coast. It stood up well to the rough airline handling that included a change of planes in each direction. Only complaint is that there are no internal tie downs for the bike. It just floats around in the bag. I installed eyebolts into the floor of the bag with plates between the bottom runners. Then I was able to use strapping to anchor the bike in place.
Great protection and very easy to pack. The padding is thick and my bike arrived in perfect condition after a flight. Rolls smoothly through the airport. Highly recommended.
This bag gives total confidence when flying with a bike. The reinforced sides and high‑density foam kept my gravel bike protected through multiple flights. Easy to roll through the airport and worth every penny
The ROLLBag Pro Plus is a game-changer for bike travel. The high-density foam padding provided excellent protection for my road bike on a recent flight. The bag's stability, thanks to its offset wheels and rigid bottom, made it easy to maneuver through the airport. However, I wish it had more internal compartments for smaller items.
The padding is excellent, and my bike stayed perfectly protected during my flight. It’s easy to pack and roll, making travel stress-free. Highly recommend!
Very practical, I was able to transport my bike by plane without any problem. Very good quality, I recommend
Very practical, I was able to transport my mountain bike by plane without any problem, I recommend it!
Chicago, Frankfurt, then a regional flight to Tbilisi. Three baggage handlings and my gravel bike came out perfectly intact. The rear derailleur shell is what convinced me: that's always the part I worried about most.
I travel a lot around the world with my wife. Very satisfied with this product, good conception, easy to carry. Very Strong and good protection
The RollBag Pro provides excellent protection for my bike and is easy to maneuver around the airport. It was very practical for my trip!
good quality, good protection. Far better than my Evoc
I’m very satisfied with the ROLLBAG PRO 2026. The padding is excellent and gives me peace of mind for airline travel, and the bag handles well even when fully packed.
Very solid bike travel bag with excellent padding
Excellent protection for long trips I recommend it
The perfect bag for air travel. Corresponds totally to the description. Very strong protection
Very durable travel bag with smart features like rigid side panels and plenty of padding
I shopped around for a bike bag and chose the Rollbag Pro. This thing is really nice. Well made and appears it will last for many years. It appears to have enough padding for airline protection. I will use it Feb 2025 for a trip out west. The other selling point was the weight. Its stated 16.5 lbs. So if your bike is around 30-32 lbs, you should be under the 50lb airline requirement. I still have yet to weigh it all. The individual padded protections to cover the bike are a really nice feature. I would have liked to see the bottom stay foam block extended along the bottom of the swing arm for even more protection and stability. The wheels roll nice for easy maneuverability. I have a 29" Large frame Santa Cruz Tallboy and everything fits just fine. I have no doubt an XL frame would fit. My wheels are 2.4 and have plenty of room in the wheel pockets. 2.6 size tires should be no problem. This bag with both tires off the bike during packing makes the overall size more compact and easier to move around. Be careful of the bags that allow for the rear wheel to stay on. The bag size may push past airline limits of 115" overall dimension.
I ordered this for my XL fat bike with 5" wide tires. I was a little skeptical that it would fit, mainly due to the large tires, but this bag appealed to me because of it's lighter weight than the competition. They were a tight squeeze, but I did manage to get them in the bag with the bike. The reason for the 4 vs 5 star review is because the included fork and rear drivetrain protection will not work with this bike because of the wide hub spacing (150mm front, 197mm rear). I am not complaining since they came free with the bag, but it is worth mentioning as I am not as satisfied as I could be. Aside from that, I am confident that my bike will be protected on my flight to Alaska in February.
Haven't used it yet, but my Lauf Large gravel bike barely fits. I will update when I use it in September
Seems like a good travel bag, maybe a bit too long to take on a train in Italy after our upcoming flight. But my trial pack seems like a good bag for air travel. Plenty of room in the bag to easily fit the bike, wheels, and some other bike items for travel.
I haven’t used my Buds bag for travel yet, but I was impressed with how light it is and compact in its travel case. I did a test pack and it was so easy to install the bike. Also has lots of extra space for all the tools and warm clothes I’m bringing when I travel to CX worlds in Italy.
The perfect bag for air travel, full of thoughtful details. Putting the bike on the first time takes a little thought, but once you get the hang of it, it's all good!
I was a bit worried about handling a padded bike bag on my own, but the ROLLBAG PRO turned out to be really easy to use. Packing the bike is straightforward and moving the bag around takes very little effort. What impressed me most is how stable it is: I had to carry it up and down several flights of stairs and it never tipped or swung. It made the whole trip a lot less stressful.
The design of the Rollbag Pro is very user-friendly. The various compartments and protectors made it easy to pack different bike components safely. Great for any cyclist.
A well-rounded product for protecting your bike on a plane. The best part is that it's easy to store in the garage and doesn't take up much space compared with other brands. It's easy to use, and ready to go in just a few minutes. Components are well protected for road, gravel and classic mountain bikes of all wheel sizes. For big mountain bikes in 29" size L/XL, wide tires and electric mountain bikes in 29" size L/XL, I recommend the RMT Bag Pro, which doesn't remove the rear wheel.
Everything is well thought out and handling the bike is easy. The pockets for the wheels are padded, and the protectors supplied keep everything securely in place. The case is very stable thanks to the rigid bottom and offset wheels. For me, it's a no-brainer!
The case is very stable and I can't travel without it. I recommend it.

United, American and Delta charge a packed bike as a standard checked bag, as long as it stays under 50 lb and 115 linear inches (as of October 2026). Above 50 lb, overweight fees apply, and some other airlines charge bike or oversize fees. Check your airline's policy before you fly.
Unfolded, the bag measures 52 x 33.8 x 11.8 in (132 x 86 x 30 cm). Folded, it measures 52 x 11.8 x 11.8 in.
Linear inches are the length + width + height of a bag; airlines use them to set size limits. The Rollbag Pro measures 97.6 linear inches, within the 115-inch limit United, American and Delta use for bikes. Airlines that apply the standard 62-inch checked-bag limit may charge an oversize fee.
There is no TSA certification for bike bags or cases: only locks can be TSA approved. They let TSA officers open and relock your bag without damaging it.
E-bike batteries are usually above 160 Wh, and lithium batteries of that size are not allowed on passenger aircraft, in checked or carry-on baggage. Check with your airline before planning to fly with an e-bike.
Yes. The padding and protectors protect your bike the same way in a car as in an airplane hold, and the bag folds to 52 x 11.8 x 11.8 in when you're not using it.
All road, gravel and mountain bikes with wheels up to 32 inches. Riders have packed an XL Ibis Ripmo and a large Santa Cruz Tallboy with 2.4 in tires. Depending on your bike, you may need to lower the seat.
Wheelbase is the distance between the front and rear axles. It is the main factor for fitting a long bike in a bag.
Both wheels, which go into two padded wheel pockets inside the bag. Packing the wheels separately keeps the bag compact. The packing video on this page shows each step.
