Is the ROADBAG ORIGINAL suited to fly with my bike?
Unfortunately, the ROADBAG ORIGINAL is not designed for air travel. However, we offer a dedicated collection of bike travel bags specifically crafted for air transport. Be sure to check them out for a perfectly suited option!
What should I do with my removed front wheel?
No worries, we’ve got you covered. The bag includes a fully padded, dedicated pocket designed to securely store and protect your front wheel during transport.

Is there anything else I could get to further protect my bike during transport?

What does “TSA approved” mean?
The term TSA approved applies only to locks and padlocks used to secure luggage. It ensures that TSA officers can open and re-lock your bag with a master key during inspection, without damaging your lock or luggage.
👉 There is no TSA certification for bike bags or bike cases themselves — only the locks can be TSA approved. To travel with peace of mind, simply use one or more TSA-approved locks on your bike bag or case.
Flew to Spain from the US with bikes packed in non-padded buds bags & cardboard boxes. Suffered some damage to one brake lever on the airplanes, but it hasn’t ruined our trip (2012 long haul trucker - built to be beat up). Once in Spain, these bags are invaluable for train travel. Pop them in and jump on any train. Look for the cars with XL baggage. The train wouldn’t take them in boxes or without bags, but the in bags they are readily accepted. We’ve seen a few other people with Buds bags on the trains as well. I originally purchased a padded travel bag but it’s a sail when packed for bike touring. Get this bag if you are going to be on a train in Europe, and pack the bike well for the airplane. The non-padded bags with fork and frame protection, plus padded wheel bag pack easily on a touring bike.
I use it to transport my gravel bike in the trunk alongside other luggage. No more scratches from bags sliding against the frame. The 5 mm padding is enough for this use, and the bag folds down very small when not in use.
I needed a padded bag to store my Urtopia Fold ST in the carrier on the back of my RV. My bike fits perfectly into this bag and will be protected while traveling. Very happy with this purchase.
